The springs forum was created by concerned citizens to create a venue where government officials, professionals, and the public can discuss the issues and solutions to protecting our local springs. Alachua County Environmental Protection Department coordinates quarterly meetings, which are open to the public, for the working group.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the next Santa Fe Springs Protection Forum this Friday January 22 at Otter Springs Campground. We may have to cancel the field trip to Alliance Dairy depending on the weather. We will make the final call during the Friday meeting. We have reached capacity for the field trip, so if you have not received a confirmation email from me, you may not be able to join the field trip. If we have cancellations, we may be able to fit others into the vans and the very few personal vehicles we are bringing. If you are not able to go on the field trip, you will still learn a lot about the Alliance Dairy from Dell Bottcher’s presentation during the meeting. If you do go on the field trip, wear closed toed shoes appropriate for walking around in mud.

We will have a one hour lunch break, but there are not restaurants nearby. Please bring your own lunch to enjoy by the spring (fingers crossed that the weather holds).

The MEETING AGENDA can be found at the Web link (below).
