Before Bok Tower was built, before Cape Canaveral was imagined, before Disney World was a twinkle in Walt Disney's eye - tourists flocked to the Sunshine State to relax and "take the waters."

Join Sarasota author and award-winning historian Liz Coursen as she explores the history of Florida's most famous springs, the significant role they have played in Florida's exploration and development, and the famous (and not-so-famous) people who enjoyed them, in this colorful and fun PowerPoint program. Funded in part by the High Springs Friends of the Library.

This program is in correlation with the Museum on Main Street's "Water/Ways 2016" travelling exhibit sponsored by the Florida Humanities Council and the Smithsonian Institute that is bringing the exhibit to the High Springs Museum (120 NW 2nd Ave), July 16 - August 27, 2016.
