Monthly Bird Walk on Pepper Creek trail

Leaders from Citrus County Audubon take birders on this guided walk.

Participants should meet by the flagpole outside the Visitor Center entrance at 7:45 AM. The walk begins promptly at 8:00 AM.

Registration is recommended.

Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them.

This leisurely-paced walk is on a handicapped accessible (paved) trail that winds through a hydric hammock along Pepper Creek.

The trail is 0.75 miles long, and you may walk back or return to the Visitor Center on the first return boat of the day leaving at 9:30 AM from the West Entrance.

Additional Information:

Enter the Riverside of the park at the entrance off of SR 35 (Baseline Rd.). The program will be held in the amphitheater at 5:00PM.

Cracker Village Tour

Come and discover what life was like at the turn of the century in the Florida "piney woods." A volunteer will show you through a Florida Cracker homestead and kitchen, the smithy and the Hinton house. Meet at the Cracker Village across from the museum.

Registered park campers are invited to join us on Saturday evenings, starting 30 minutes after sunset, at the amphitheater adjacent to the general camping area within the park for our Campfire Circle Programs.
