The annual Celebration of Lights at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will run seven evenings starting December 19 through Christmas Eve and then again on December 26th for an After-Christmas Party. The Celebration of Lights will not be open on the evening of December 25th.

The Celebration of Lights take place inside the Wildlife Park from the West Entrance to the garden of the Springs. Visitors are encouraged to park in the parking area at the Visitor Center and main entrance on U.S. 19.

Trams will be transporting visitors back and forth from the Visitor Center to the West Entrance throughout the evenings.

Refreshments will also be available.

Rainbow Springs State Park and the Friends of Rainbow Springs invite any and all curious adults interested in learning about a variety of topics such as gardening, native wildlife and pollinators, invasive exotic plants, local Florida history, protection of the River and watershed, the ground beneath your feet and so much more. The Adult Education Series are monthly talks given in a comfortable sit-down setting and will include presentations by local professionals, Master Gardeners, historians, Rainbow Springs State Park staff and volunteers and guest speakers from different occupations and backgrounds. There is something to learn for everyone.

Additional Information:

Presentations will be given in a covered open-air pavilion that is ADA accessible.

Presentations will be approximately one to one and a half hours in length.

Arrive early to enjoy refreshments and to get a seat. Space is limited.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Rainbow Springs volunteer citizen support organization.


In order to participate in this program, one:

• Must have the ability to follow visual and/or verbal instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion

• Must have the ability to withstand exposure to outdoor air temperatures under a covered pavilion for up to two hours

• Must have the ability sit or stand independently or with the assistance of a companion for up to two hours.
