Free with regular park admission.

Space is limited. Please call to register.

Please bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them.

Meet in the parking lot of The Lodge at Wakulla Springs.

Please plan to arrive at the park entrance by 8:15 a.m. so that you are not rushed to reach the parking lot.

Be part of an introductory activity geared for those who have always wished to better know the birds around them by sight or by sound, but felt intimidated by the more proficient and experienced birders. As participants traverse the grounds surrounding the lodge and the park's administration building, Apalachee Audubon Member Helen King will make it easy to recognize a few of the beautiful songbirds that can be found in your own backyard. As a bonus, watchful eyes may even be introduced to some magnificent neo-tropical species migrating through.

Essential Eligibility Criteria: In order to participate in this program, one:

- Must have the ability to follow visual and/or verbal instruction independently or with the assistance of a companion;

- Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors for 2 hours;

- Must have the ability to traverse wet, sandy, uneven terrain for 2 miles, independently or with the assistance of a companion.
