Spring-friendly Yards

Protection of springs begins in the yard. Use of fertilizers and pesticides for traditional residential and commercial landscapes is a source of pollutants in the aquifer and our springs. Also, water withdrawn from the aquifer to water lawns and landscaping has a significant impact on spring ecosystems.

The good news is that more Florida residents and communities are embracing "Florida-friendly Landscaping" concepts emphasizing smaller lawns, water conservation and use of native plants and plants best suited to Florida's environment. Learn how your yard can be spring-friendly.
