Blue Springs County Park (Levy County)
Blue Springs is a favorite local swimming hole with spring waters abounding from a series of sand boils.
In 2017, Blue Springs will be open from March 24 through May 22, on Friday through Monday, from 10:00AM to 7:30PM. Beginning on May 26, the spring will be open 7 days/week. It is a second-magnitude spring, and is a favorite local swimming hole.
Blue Springs is also commonly known as Bronson Blue Spring.
The spring pool is surrounded by a concrete retaining wall around the northeastern perimeter, with stair and dock access. Spring waters issue from a series of sand boils scattered across the bottom of the pool. Blue Springs discharges to the southwest down a short run and into the nearby Waccasassa River, which flows south to the Gulf of Mexico. There are restrooms, picnic pavilions and a concession stand onsite. Nearby hiking and riding trails pass through the Devils Hammock Wildlife Management Area.
